Rouella's Funtastical Journey

Wander · Eat · Remember

Hola Barcelona

November 27, 2017
I made it. I'm sitting in my room in Barcelona trying to resist the lure of sleep. It's been a long day with flights all morning but I wanted to make the most of my time here. So I checked in and headed out to see the Sagrada Familia. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite church architecture. There is something so welcoming and novel about it. I captured a few pictures below to share. Gaudi's architecture was way ahead of its time. It's amazing to witness the progress of this temple over time. It is expected to be finally completed in 2026. While I was walking through the attached museum, my stomach started growling which is when I realized that I hadn't had lunch. I stopped in at a little restaurant and got myself some patatas bravas on my walk back. I love, love, love potatoes so the dish was super comforting to my hungry belly. I'm going to stay awake now and try to eat dinner at the time locals do. Supposedly after 9pm. The question now is whether I should do Tapas or Paella. I'm going to spend the next two hours contemplating this deep and meaningful question and try not to fall asleep doing so.

Or you can just do a Tapa Paella!

Sagrada Familia Church is one of the greatest architectural work and has taken a very long time to complete. As a remembrance, I picked up a fridge magnate replica of the magnificent structure.

It's not complete yet. Estimate is 2026 but it may get pushed beyond that 😊

Yes, I meant whatever part is completed has taken a long tome. I vaguely remember the guide telling us that they are not getting govt. funding, probably the lack of funding is delaying the completion.
