Rouella's Funtastical Journey

Wander · Eat · Remember

Last day in Barcelona

November 29, 2017
I tried to do way too much yesterday and was exhausted so decided to take it easier today. I did get in some sightseeing but took advantage of the buses and the metro. Someone had warned me that while hostels are cool, people tend to want to spend less so today I went out solo and indulged. I checked out Park Guell and took a look at Casa Vicen and Palau Guell too - all Gaudi's architecture. While catching the bus this morning, I found myself outside the Block of Discord. Four different architects designed the four different buildings below. The far left building is by the same guy who made the Palau de la Musica and the far right is by Gaudi. Today I also did some shopping. Picked myself up some espedrillas. Too bad summer is so far away. I hadn't tried tapas yet and so grabbed lunch at the La Boqueria market again. The thing about me is that I tend to eat very little so traveling alone means that I can eat only so much. I ordered just two dishes and couldn't even get through that. After lunch, I went the Spanish route and took an afternoon siesta. It felt so very good. After waking up, I took another walk and got myself some creme catalan - Barcelona's version of a creme brulee. I just finished most of my packing and am going to take it easy the rest of today. I've got an early flight tomorrow to Seville. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather. It had gotten pretty chilly here the last couple of days. I bet I'll be back in Barcelona some day. In the meantime, as they say it here - Adieu (pronounced as Aa - day - ooo)
