From Cappadocia to Antalya

Hot air balloons bottoms up view - today.
We woke up early in the morning to go to the roof of our hotel and see the balloons fill up the sky. It was pretty awesome. We even had a balloon almost land on us and waved to all the people in it.

After breakfast and grabbing some coffee from King's coffee, we headed to our last Cappadocia destination - the Goreme Open Air Museum. In keeping with the other sites in Cappadocia, this was a series of cave dwellings and churches from the 13th century. Our favorite was the Dark Church where a lot of the mosaics are well preserved due to the limited light exposure. A lot of stairs as usual but well worth it.

After lunch, we headed to catch our flight to Antalya where we plan to spend a night before making our way to Fethiye.
We got into Antalya around 7pm. After checking in, we headed to the Old Town to check out Hadrian's Gate and grab some dinner.

The streets were super busy since it's Ramadan and it was night. The whole Old Town reminded me of Farwaniyah in Kuwait where I grew up. A healthy dose of nostalgia. We found a gem of a place for dinner called Dikkat Et where we got to try local delicacies like Piyaz (a bean salad with a tahini sauce), spicy kofte and some Kayseri menti. Definitely stop by here if you are in Antalya. It's a comfortable family run restaurant.

Today was more chill but we have plenty planned for tomorrow as we continue exploring Turkey.
