Rouella's Funtastical Journey

Wander · Eat · Remember

It’s that time again

November 28, 2025

We enjoyed our last fun day in Madrid and now are just boarding our last flight home to Seattle.

So this was a more chill day. We started by getting coffee Pan y Peppilino’s cafe and then grabbing some delicious baked goods from Santo Bakehouse before boarding our train to Segovia. All delish and recommended.

After a quick train ride and taking a bus to the city (to the acueduct), we arrived at the famous Segovia aqueducts. These are original Roman Aqueducts that were completely functional until a little while ago. Quite an engineering marvel, they were absolutely fun to explore. We also visited the famous Segovia Cathedral and the palace attached to it. Walked the streets and before we knew it, it was time for our return train.

Getting back to Madrid, we kept our last evening simple - walked the crowded streets, checked out a festive (and creepy) Cortylandia show on a busy road put on by El Cortes Ingles (think like a Harrods). We wrapped the night by revisiting the Taberna we had gone to the previous night just to try a variety of other dishes such as a Spanish tortilla and more croquettes.

And that was it for Madrid - it was great being here to experience the start of the festive season. Now time to get back to reality and the pup missing us desperately 🐶!
