Work travel snapshots and New Mexico

Its been a while, hasn't it. I've been traveling a lot this year, though mostly for work - went to beautiful Kenya and South Africa - twice for the latter.
Kenya was truly lovely and in between crazy workdays, I managed a weekend safari to Amboseli National Park. It is known for its elephants and boy, were we rewarded. Even caught glimpses of lions and flamingos. Here are a few select pictures.

The food in Kenya was awesome and so were the people. It is definitely on my list to go back for a true vacation and maybe even checkout the serengiti migration. After Kenya, I headed to Johannesberg. Johannesberg was cool and it was amazing hanging out with my co-workers and learning about it's rich history.

The jewel of South Africa though - was Cape Town where I had an opportunity to go twice. Its a city in the middle of paradise. It was almost like I was living in the cascades. Some snapshots from there are below.

While the travel earlier this year for work has been rewarding, traveling for work is also exhausting. We were itching to take a real vacation. I was scheduled to go to Ethiopia and had a petsitter booked since Harneet had some travel too. Both travels fell through, so on a whim, we booked tickets to New Mexico. We are kinda winging this trip, so follow along to see how it goes. Here is a stellar picture from our flight in to Albuquerque to close out this post. Stay tuned!

P.S. I also had a fun little trip to see one of my delightful sisters (and her puppy) in Houston where I went to a renaissance fair. Here's a pic of some "fishing champions".
