Vienna (Wien) part 2
So since my last post, the bugs spread from dad to mom but we still managed to selectively explore the city of Vienna for the next two days. And don't worry - they are both doing much better today. More on some cool resources my sis found below.
Day 2 in Vienna began with an exploration of Schronbrunn palace - used our flexi pass for this one. This was the primary residence of Franz Josef and Sisi (the queen in the 1800s who Vienna loves - way ahead of her time in social reform and fashion). The palace was huge and we explored around 20 rooms in the main palace with an audioguide. Followed it up with a panoramabahn ride around the palace and through the gardens before taking a break.

After a lunch break in a museum cafe, we headed over to Sisi's magical journey - a VR experience that allowed us to travel the underworld with Sisi. I know this sounds silly but I have never done a VR experience before. It was cool - but if you have done one of these experiences, I heard from family that it was comparatively average.
After a nap and some silliness and some rest and recovery, we made our way to Grinzing for a lovely dinner at Mayer am Pfarrplatz - Beethoven house - right next door to Beethoven's house. It was a traditional heuriger or Austrian Taverna with farm fresh offerings and the most delicious white wines from the Mayer wineries. Highly recommend.

The day after, we started our day by checking out morning exercises at the Spanish riding school. Horses prancing around like big trained puppies 😍.

After another break, it was time for Mythos Mozart. This was a fantastic immersive experience into the music of Mozart. We got to feature as art subjects (see if you recognize me below) and then immerse ourselves in Mozarts wonderful music through tactile and deep immersive experiences. Everyone enjoyed this one!

After lunch, it was time for an art museum. We made our way to Kunsthistorisches Museum and spent a couple of hours exploring Eastern and western European art before doing a bit of the blue line hop on, hop off and calling it a day.
And that was Vienna. I'm writing this from a train to Salzburg which will feature prominently in the next blog post.

Pro tip: doctorsa.com was a fantastic resource. We managed to get a remote telehealth appointment with a fabulous doctor, a remote prescription and today, everyone is doing so much better. Definitely bookmark this for any future travel (I believe it is worldwide).
