Exploring Praha

June 4, 2026

Refreshed after a chill night, we set out yesterday to take a stroll around old town. After visiting St. Nicholas's old church, this fantastic guide allows us to understand the historical buildings in the old town square. The big church is the church of Tyn with the two gothic spires called Adam and Eve (kinda sexist since the smaller tower is Eve 🙄).

Before the clock struck 11, we made our way to the astronomical tower. A marvel of engineering, the clock shows the time, the season and the zodiac symbol. Every hour, the twelve apostles take a walk . It's absolutely fascinating to watch. We headed up to the tower to catch fabulous views of Prague and check out the museum.

After a full morning, we found a local mess hall to eat some authentic Czech food at. I've been here before - it's called Havelska Koruna. You pretty much get a slip going in, pick what you want to eat. They mark items on the slip and then you pay on leaving. Super fun experience that you should try if you ever visit. We also checked out the Lennone wall on our way back (nap time after that meal).

After that nap, we headed out to visit the infant Jesus church and stopped for some souvenir shopping.

and we then wrapped our sightseeing on the Charles bridge. The local food was okay for a bit but we did have to sprinkle Indian food in - especially with our hit list of illnesses (one more sister fell victim a few days ago). This time we found a fantastic dosa place called annamalai - super authentic dosas!

And today was day 2 of exploring. Our goal was Prague castle. We got dropped off at the north entrance to minimize climbing. Once there, we started our tour at St. Vitus - a huge church with gorgeous architecture and stained glass.

We then made our way through the old palace, St. George basilica and the golden lane. The armory was awesome in the last.

After lunch at a cute Italian place, we rested before me and my sis snuck out to grab some cakes for the birthday celebration. Cake cutting for my dad and other sis, some gifts and a fantastic dinner at Jaffa Restaurant was the perfect wrap to the day. My parents enjoyed the Arabic food bringing back some happy nostalgia.

Tomorrow is our last day exploring. Chat then!
